Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information ToolEnhancer ("we", "us") handles when you use our website and tools, and how we protect it. ToolEnhancer is designed around one principle: your files stay on your device.

2. Your files and media

All image, video and audio processing happens locally inside your web browser using technologies such as Canvas, Web Audio, MediaRecorder, WebCodecs and WebAssembly. When you open a file in a tool:

• the file is read into your browser's memory on your own device;
• it is processed there and the result is offered back to you as a download;
• it is never uploaded, transmitted, stored or logged by us;
• it is discarded when you remove it, close the tab or leave the page.

Because we never receive your files, we cannot view, share, sell or recover them.

3. Camera, microphone and screen

Recording tools (such as the Screen Recorder, Webcam Recorder and Voice Recorder) only access your devices after you grant permission through your browser's own prompt. Recordings are kept in the tab's memory until you download them or close the page. You can revoke permissions at any time in your browser settings.

4. Information we collect

We aim to collect as little as possible:

• Technical logs. Like any website, our hosting provider may automatically record standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. These logs never contain your files.
• Messages you send us. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include so that we can reply.
• Analytics. If we enable privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics, they will measure page visits only — never file contents — and we will update this policy before doing so.

5. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We store a small number of preferences in your browser's local storage — for example your light/dark theme choice — purely to remember your settings. You can clear this at any time in your browser.

6. Third-party services

Some tools may download open-source libraries or AI models (for example WebAssembly codecs) from a content delivery network the first time you use them. These downloads deliver code to your browser; your files are not sent with them. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for advertising.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Since your media never leaves your device, the most sensitive data is never exposed to our infrastructure in the first place. Please keep your browser and operating system up to date for the best protection.

8. Children's privacy

ToolEnhancer is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, such as emails you have sent us. To make a request, email privacy@toolenhancer.app.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
