A title at the start, a name caption during an interview, a call to action at the end: short on-screen text makes a video understandable with the sound off. Add as many text items as you need, style and place each one, choose when it appears and let it fade in and out.

Overview
Each text item is a block of one or more lines with its own font, size, colour, bold and italic settings. Six one-click styles give a starting point: Headline (bold white with a soft shadow), Subtitle (Georgia, smaller), Outline (Impact with a black stroke), Banner (white on an orange box), Label (dark text on a white box) and Neon (glowing green). Ten fonts are available, from Arial and Georgia to Impact and Courier New, and size is set in pixels up to 30% of the frame height.
Drag text directly on the video to place it, nudge it with the arrow keys, or snap it to one of nine positions that keep a 5% safe margin from the edges. The first item starts centred as a title; later items start at the bottom, where lower thirds and captions usually go.
Every item has its own on-screen time range, set on a thumbnail timeline below the player, and an optional fade in and fade out of up to two seconds each. The preview shows each item appear, fade and disappear as the video plays, so you can check timing against speech or action before exporting.
On export each item is drawn to a transparent full-frame PNG at the video’s resolution, using the same rendering code as the preview, and FFmpeg 5.1 in WebAssembly overlays them at the right times with alpha fades. The result is an MP4 with H.264 video at the original size; the audio is kept. Rendering happens in your browser after a one-time, cached download of about 31 MB, and because it is single-threaded, a minute of 1080p can take a few minutes on a laptop.

Use cases
Put a bold headline over the first three seconds of a Reel or Short so viewers scrolling with the sound off know what the clip is about.
Add a Label or Banner lower third with a speaker’s name and role while they are introduced, then fade it out after a few seconds.
Label steps (“Step 2: Open Settings”) at the moment they happen in a screen recording or cooking video.
Add a centred title with a slow fade at the start and a date or thank-you message at the end of a wedding, birthday or trip video.
Pro tips
Answers to common questions about the text on video.
Yes. Add as many text items as you like. Each has its own time range on the timeline, so one can be a title at the start while others appear later as captions.
Each item stays in one position while on screen. The only animation is an optional fade in and fade out of up to two seconds.
Yes. Each item is drawn with the same canvas code at the video’s full resolution and then overlaid by FFmpeg, so position, font and colour match the preview.
Not at the moment. You can choose from ten common fonts that render reliably in the browser, including serif, sans-serif, monospace and display options.
No. The text is burned into the picture, unlike a separate subtitle track. Keep your original file if you might need a version without it.
