Before footage goes to a client for review or out onto social media, it helps to have your name on it. Add a text or logo watermark, place it in a corner or tile it across the frame, adjust opacity and rotation, and export an MP4 without the video ever leaving your computer.

Overview
A watermark is a semi-transparent mark burned into every frame, so it stays with the video wherever it is reposted. This tool supports two kinds. A text watermark uses your own wording, such as “© Studio Name”, in one of ten fonts with bold, any colour, a size of 2–30% of the frame width and an optional drop shadow that keeps light text readable on bright scenes. A logo watermark uses any image your browser can open, sized at 5–60% of the frame width; a PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.
Placement uses a nine-position grid (corners, edges and centre) with a margin of 0–15% from the edge. Alternatively, switch on Tiled to repeat the mark across the whole frame, with adjustable spacing. Tiling switches to a −30° angle and 25% opacity by default, a common pattern for review copies that should be hard to crop. Opacity runs from 5 to 100% (70% by default) and rotation from −90° to 90°.
The watermark can stay on for the whole video or only between a start and end time, which is useful for an end-card logo or a mark that appears during a specific segment. The preview is drawn at the video’s exact resolution with the same code used for the export, so what you see on the playing video matches the final file.
On export the watermark is rendered to a transparent full-frame PNG and overlaid by FFmpeg 5.1 compiled to WebAssembly, inside your browser. The output is an MP4 with H.264 video at the original resolution, and the audio is kept. The engine is about 31 MB, downloaded once and cached. Because every frame is re-encoded on a single thread, a minute of 1080p can take a few minutes on a laptop.
| Goal | Position | Size | Opacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subtle branding | Corner | Logo 10–15% / text 3–4% | 50–70% |
| Review copy | Tiled | Text 4–6% | 20–30% |
| End-card logo | Centre, last seconds | Logo 30–40% | 100% |
| Copyright notice | Bottom edge | Text 2–3% | 60–80% |
Drop the video into the tool.
Choose Text and type your watermark, or choose Logo and upload an image.
Pick a position on the grid, or turn on Tiled to cover the frame.
Adjust size, opacity, rotation and margin or tile spacing.
Optionally turn off Whole video and set when the watermark is visible.
Click Add watermark and download the MP4.
Use cases
Send a draft edit with a tiled, semi-transparent “DRAFT” or studio name across the frame so it can’t be published before the invoice is paid.
Put a small logo in the bottom corner of every Reel or Short so reposts still point back to your account.
Protect preview versions of footage on a portfolio site with a visible copyright notice while keeping the clean master offline.
Show a larger centred logo only for the last few seconds of a video by limiting the watermark to a time range.
Pro tips
Answers to common questions about the video watermark.
It is burned into the pixels of every frame, so it can’t be switched off like a subtitle track. Keep your original, unwatermarked file if you will need a clean version.
A PNG with a transparent background, ideally at least as wide as it will appear on screen. JPG logos work too, but their rectangular background will be visible.
Yes. Sizes are set as a percentage of the frame width, so the same settings look proportionally the same on 720p and 4K footage.
Yes. Turn off Whole video and drag the start and end handles on the timeline to the seconds where the mark should appear.
One watermark is applied per export. To combine them, export with the logo first, then run the result through the tool again with the text.
No. ToolEnhancer processes files on your own device inside the browser. They are never sent to, stored on or seen by our servers.
Yes. The video watermark is free to use with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits.
