Composites, double exposures, thumbnails and simple mockups all come down to stacking elements and choosing how they mix. Add images, text and shapes as layers, arrange them directly on the canvas and export the finished design, all in your browser.

Overview
A layered document keeps every element separate until you export, so you can change anything later. Here, each image, text block or shape is its own layer with its own position, scale, rotation, opacity and blend mode. Layers are drawn from bottom to top, and the list on the right shows them top first, just like in desktop editors. You can hide, lock, duplicate, reorder or delete any layer, and every change can be undone.
Blend modes decide how a layer mixes with everything beneath it. Multiply darkens, and is ideal for placing logos or textures on paper. Screen lightens, for light leaks and double exposures. Overlay and Soft light add contrast and texture. Difference and Exclusion create graphic effects. Hue, Saturation, Color and Luminosity let one layer borrow a single property from another. All 16 modes use the browser's native Canvas compositing, so the result matches what you see.
You work directly on the canvas. Click a layer to select it and drag it to move. Pull a corner handle to scale it, or drag the round handle above it to rotate, holding Shift to snap to 15° steps. Arrow keys nudge by 1 pixel (Shift for 10), Ctrl+D duplicates and Delete removes. Text layers support ten fonts, bold, italic, alignment, colour, an outline and a drop shadow. Shapes can be rectangles with rounded corners or ellipses, with a fill and an outline.
Start from your own image, whose size becomes the canvas, or from a blank canvas preset: square or portrait post, Story, YouTube thumbnail, Full HD, social share image or A4 at 300 dpi. The canvas can be transparent or any background colour. Export renders the full canvas at its true pixel size as PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF. PNG and WebP keep transparency.
| Blend mode | Effect | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Multiply | Darkens; white becomes transparent | Logos on paper, shadows, textures |
| Screen | Lightens; black becomes transparent | Light leaks, double exposures, glows |
| Overlay | Boosts contrast of the layer below | Textures, colour washes |
| Soft light | Gentle contrast and tint | Subtle colour grading, dodge & burn |
| Difference | Inverts where layers differ | Graphic effects, alignment checks |
| Color | Applies hue and saturation only | Recolouring objects, tinting black & white |
| Luminosity | Applies brightness only | Detail from one image over colour of another |
Drop one or more images to start, or pick a blank canvas size and click Create canvas.
Add more images, text or shapes from the toolbar. Paste images with Ctrl+V.
Select a layer to move, scale or rotate it on the canvas, and set its opacity and blend mode.
Reorder, hide or lock layers in the Layers panel. Use Ctrl+Z to undo.
Open the Export tab, choose a format and download the composition.
Use cases
Start from the 1280 × 720 or 1080 × 1350 preset, drop in a photo, add bold outlined text and a coloured shape behind it. You have a finished thumbnail without a design subscription.
Place a portrait on the bottom and a landscape above it with the Screen or Lighten blend mode. Lower the opacity until the two images merge into one.
Add your logo as an image layer, set Multiply or reduce opacity, then scale and position it in a corner before exporting.
Arrange several product shots, rotate them slightly, add labels and a background colour, and export a single WebP for your site or shop.
Pro tips
Answers to common questions about the layer editor.
Projects live in the open tab while you work and aren't saved to a file yet, so export your design before closing the page. Undo and redo are available throughout the session.
Normal, Multiply, Screen, Overlay, Darken, Lighten, Color dodge, Color burn, Hard light, Soft light, Difference, Exclusion, Hue, Saturation, Color and Luminosity. These are the same 16 modes defined by the web's compositing standard.
Yes, as long as the background is set to transparent and you export as PNG, WebP or AVIF. JPG has no transparency, so the tool fills the background with white.
Up to 8,192 pixels on each side, which covers print sizes such as A4 at 300 dpi (2,480 × 3,508). Very large canvases with many big images use more memory, so complex designs run best on a laptop or desktop.
The editor offers ten widely available fonts (such as Arial, Georgia, Impact and Verdana) that render the same in the browser and the export. Custom font upload isn't supported yet.
