Colourists use lookup tables to give footage a consistent look, and the same .cube files work just as well on photos. Choose one of 12 built-in grades or load your own LUT, dial in the intensity and export at full resolution, all in your browser.

Overview
A 3D LUT (lookup table) is a cube of colour samples. For every input colour it stores the output colour that a grade should produce. A 33-point LUT, the most common size, holds 33 × 33 × 33 = 35,937 entries. Colours between the samples are blended smoothly by trilinear interpolation. This tool uploads the LUT to your graphics card as a 3D texture, so the lookup happens in hardware for every pixel, and the preview updates instantly.
You can load the two most widespread formats. Adobe/Resolve .cube files are plain text, used by Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom profiles and most LUT packs. Hald CLUT images are PNGs that encode the whole cube as pixels, popular with RawTherapee, darktable and ImageMagick. Load as many as you like. Each appears as a tile with a thumbnail of your photo, so you can compare grades at a glance.
The 12 built-in looks are generated in the browser as 33-point LUTs: Teal & Orange, Warm Film, Cool Film, Bleach Bypass, Cross Process, Noir, Vintage Fade, Golden Hour, Moody Forest, Neon Night, Vivid Pop and Soft Matte. Any of them can be downloaded as a standard .cube file, so you can use the same grade on video in your editing software. A look created for photos then matches your clips exactly.
Most LUTs look best at less than full strength. The Intensity slider blends the graded result with the original from 0 to 100%, and the Compare divider shows before and after side by side. The export is rendered at the photo's full resolution as the original format, JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. Your photo and your LUT files never leave your device.
| LUT size | Colour entries | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 17³ | 4,913 | Lightweight looks, on-camera monitoring |
| 33³ | 35,937 | Standard for creative grades (built-in looks use this) |
| 64³ (Hald level 8) | 262,144 | High-precision Hald CLUT PNGs (512 × 512) |
| 65³ | 274,625 | Precise technical and colour-space transforms |
Drop a photo into the tool, paste it with Ctrl+V, or browse your device.
Click any look tile, or press Load .cube or Hald PNG to add your own LUTs.
Adjust Intensity until the grade feels right, and use Compare to check against the original.
Pick an output format and download the graded photo, or download the LUT itself as a .cube file.
Use cases
Load the same .cube you use on footage so thumbnails, stills and posters share the exact colour of the film or YouTube video.
Drop in several LUTs from a pack and compare them on your own photos side by side as thumbnails, instead of judging from the seller's sample images.
Pick one look, such as Warm Film or Soft Matte, and apply it at the same intensity to every image in a series for a cohesive feed.
Start from a built-in look and download it as a .cube. It then works in any app that reads LUTs, from video editors to mobile photo apps.
Pro tips
Answers to common questions about the lut filters.
A .cube file is a text-based 3D lookup table, a standard created by Adobe and used across Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and many photo apps. It lists output colours for a grid of input colours, typically 17, 33 or 65 points per side.
A Hald CLUT stores the same kind of colour lookup as an image. A 512 × 512 PNG encodes a 64-point cube. Apps like RawTherapee, darktable and ImageMagick use this format, and this tool reads it directly.
No. 1D LUTs only adjust each channel's curve separately and can't express full colour grades. The tool shows a clear message if you load one. Use a 3D .cube instead.
Yes. Select a look and click Download LUT as .cube. The file is a standard 33-point 3D LUT that Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and most other editors can load.
The grade is calculated in floating point on the GPU and exported at full resolution. Only the output format matters: PNG is lossless, while JPG and WebP compress the image according to the quality setting.
